belonging was composed for and dedicated to RE:duo, consisting of violist Elsie Han and saxophonist Wilson Poffenberger. The title references the idea of people seeking belonging within their communities. We often shape ourselves to fit into the molds that society expects of us to secure acceptance within our communities. However, when we find people who accept us as we are, without any reshaping of ourselves, we find new ways to belong.
