Yellow-bellied slider was written for hornist Ashley Godwin.
The yellow-bellied slider is a turtle breed native to the southeastern United States. Spotting these turtles in local ponds throughout my undergrad was always a highlight of my day, and these turtles have a special place in both mine and Ashley’s hearts.
